![]() Evan is 9 years old, and has a twin sister, Savannah, and an older brother, Alfonso Jr. His Mom is deceased. His Dad, Alfonso Sr., is a fabulous artist and his sole support. Evan was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma 2 years ago and has undergone rigorous chemotherapy to eliminate the tumor in his head. During this process he has lost the use of one eye. Because his balance has been affected, his ability to ride a bike and participate in sports has declined. During this time, Evan lost weight and missed a lot of school. He has been homeschooled to try and keep pace. He has been in a lot of pain for 2 years, and has missed a lot of normal social activities due to his weakened state, yet he has remained positive throughout. Upon meeting Evan we were greeted with a smile and a hug. Evan gave us an idea of what his dream room would include... the colors orange and green, themes of superheroes, and monster trucks. This meeting gave us the insight to make his room a feeling of excitement each time he would enter as well as create a room for Evan to heal in during his ongoing treatments. A place where he can rest, do his homework, and not have to think about what was. Evan loved the new colors, his new furniture, bedding, monster truck, Spiderman, and of course, his new computer, which will give him the ability to do his homework at home. Evan is still battling cancer. Since we finished his room, Evan has had cancer appear in other areas and has returned to U.M. Ann Arbor for treatment. We continue to pray for him. Team Leaders:
