 Although Larry Jr. has many complications from Spina Bifida, and has had more operations than most can count, he couldn't be more loved by his five older brothers and sisters. Larry Jr. is 6 years old. He was referred to us by CS Mott Hospital, after being in their care since his first surgery hours after his birth. He lives with his siblings and parents in a home that offered only enough space for him to be downstairs in his parents room. His parents' dream was simple. To have little Larry join "the boys upstairs" so he could be close to his brothers. This meant that an addition would be necessary and it could take much more than the typical bedroom space, as the stairs and other areas would need to be redesigned and the entire area above the kitchen torn out to create a space for all four boys!!! It is true that angels are among us, as Sarah and Jennifer Jackson along with their family and company Hungry Howie's, not only took on the project after seeing little Larry's picture at our Hats Off Luncheon, they raised enough funds through their company golf outing to create an incredible new space - complete with a media center, a PC courtesy of Hungry Howie's, beautiful furniture for all the children and a custom rainforest frog mural that Larry has always dreamed of. After the Jackson's enlisted numerous volunteers, the entire upper level addition was created under the guidance of Glen Richmond, with new siding custom matched to the original. All rooms were painted. New carpet was installed throughout the entire upper level, and the stairs were widened. Thanks to California Closets all the bedrooms received new closets, including a custom medical cabinet for little Larry. Even the girl's room and parents' roooms were given a makeover!! In addition, the Prout's were given a mini-vacation complete with a trip to Lucky Strike Lanes (courtesy of Brian Conway) while the finishing touches were put on - thanks to generous friends at the Residence Inn in Novi. Hungry Howie's pizza and a trip to Bucca De Beppo topped it off. For the first time ever the entire family are together in bedrooms next to each other, and Larry is sleeping upstairs with all of his brothers in a beautiful space dreaming under his rainforest frogs.
