TURNING POINT

Healing Environments in Communities

The Suite Dreams Project adopted a room at Turning Point, a shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children, to create a safe space within the shelter where abused children receive counsel and crisis support.

Just a week after the room was completed, a three-year-old client made it all worthwhile... "She came in and checked out all the new furniture then got up on a chair to look at the mural. She pointed at the stream and started telling a story about sharks and fish and where the fish stay to be safe", Kelly of Turning Point said. "Thank you for turning what one of the kids called 'the room with boring white walls' into a safe and creative haven for these children to dream in." A special thank you to Larry Bondra of World of Floors, Jamie Jemison of JRJ Designs, and Beth Noren, a local artist for all of their time, materials, and services that made this project possible!
