XTREME DREAM HOUSE PROJECT
Presented by the Suite Dreams Project and Variety, The Children's Charity.
During the week of November 5th through November 12th, Jeffrey King of Jeffrey King Interiors and Lisa Petrella of Petrella Designs, will lead the Xtreme Dream Team, a group of community volunteers as they remodel a house for a family in need.
Making Dreams Come True
Irene, a single mom, and her four children aged 1, 2, 5 and 16 finally have a home of their own after spending the past 17 years in area shelters. We invite you to feature the progress of the Xtreme Dream Team from start to finish and capture the expression and emotions of Irene and her children when they set eyes on their new home for the first time. Irene will be very surprised - she is expecting the Xtreme Dream Team to redo the children's bedrooms. Little does she know, the team is redesigning her entire house and much more.
This project is a true example of the community coming together to help a struggling family. Aside from the two participating charities, dozens of volunteers and contributors are donating their time, energy and resources to Irene's Xtreme Dream. The family will be staying at the Holidome in Jackson, Mich. while the home is being redone. Irene will receive a beauty and fashion makeover the day of her home's unveiling. A year's worth of groceries have been donated, as well as a brand new mini-van for the family. For the Xtreme Dream unveiling, the family will be picked up in a limousine to be delivered in comfort and style to see their new home for the first time. All of these make great visuals to contribute to the story.
Xtreme Dream was initiated by a generous donation from a Variety supporter and executed thanks to the resources and relationships of the Suite Dreams Project.
The Suite Dreams Project is pleased to have partnered with the Women's Survival Center in Pontiac, MI and Maggie Allesse, founder of the center, to create a healing environment in their children's daycare center. This project, completed in August 2002, is a point of pride for our Project as it helps the children of many battered women.
More playrooms will be completed in the Center. Check back for more information about how you can become involved with this Project.
